How to Clean Your Sneakers at Home Like a Pro – SoleProtect’s Guide

The Trusted Sneaker Care Experts in the Philippines

Wanna keep your sneakers fresh and clean without damaging them? You’ve come to the right place. As the go-to sneaker restoration hub in La Union, we’re dropping our official SoleProtect guide on how to clean your sneakers at home — safely and effectively.

🧰 What You’ll Need:

  • Soft-bristle brush or old toothbrush
  • Sneaker-safe cleaning solution (avoid detergent!)
  • Warm water
  • Microfiber cloth or towel
  • (Optional) Magic eraser for sole scuffs

🪜 Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide:

1. Remove laces and insoles
Soak the laces in warm water + cleaning solution. Gently scrub insoles with a brush and let them air dry.

2. Dry brush first
Remove surface dust and dirt using a soft brush. This preps your sneakers for deep cleaning.

3. Mix your solution
Use a sneaker-safe cleaning solution (like what we use at SoleProtect) mixed with warm water.

4. Scrub the upper
Dip your brush into the solution and scrub gently in circular motions. Be extra careful with suede, mesh, or knit.

5. Clean the midsoles and outsoles
Use a firmer brush or magic eraser for these parts.

6. Wipe & dry
Use a damp microfiber towel to remove excess dirt and foam. Let your sneakers air dry indoors — avoid direct sunlight.

7. Deodorize (optional)
Sprinkle baking soda inside, leave overnight, and tap it out in the morning.

🧠 SoleProtect Tips:

  • Don’t use detergent or bleach — they damage sneaker materials and color.
  • Use separate brushes for different materials.
  • Yellow soles? We got pro treatments for that.
  • Unsure about the material? Better leave it to the pros.
